Afghanistan Digital Library
The Afghanistan Digital Library will retrieve and restore works published in Afghanistan between 1870 and 1930; the long-term objective is to collect, catalogue, digitize and provide access to as many of this period's publications as possible.
Arthur Paul Afghanistan Collection: Digitizing the Collection
One of the largest collections of Afghanistan research materials in the world is housed at the Criss Library, University of Nebraska at Omaha. The primary focus of digitization in the Afghanistan Collection is on public access. Digitized materials are made available to the public through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Digital Commons site.
The Agriculture Electronic Library
The Agriculture Electronic Library, the first electronic library in Afghanistan, was created as a joint project between Atifa Rawan, a librarian at the University of Arizona Library, and Barbara Hutchinson and Carla Casler of the University of Arizona's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Arid Lands Information Center in the Office of Arid Lands Studies.
The Afghanistan Digital Libraries
A USAID-funded project in collaboration with the University of Arizona Library is a workspace and blog aimed at building a network of knowledge for Afghanistan academic libraries. In this digital library, the contents and catalogs of libraries are stored locally and are accessed remotely via computer networks. Components of this digital library include collection of databases, digital collections, articles, integrated catalogs and many other forms of social networking and resources.
